Steve Myerson is a keyboardist influenced by the deep traditions of American music including Jazz, New Orleans, Folk, Stride, R&B, and Gospel. Steve is a talent high in demand for his versatility as both pianist and keyboardist.

Steve Myerson’s story begins in Philadelphia, where he attended University of the Arts (’99 Piano Performance) under the instruction of Trudy Pitts. He also studied with Jim Ridl, Andy Laverne, and Bill Charlap. While in Philly, Steve had the opportunity to perform with Grover Washington Jr., John Swana, Jimmy Bruno, Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, bagpiper Rufus Harley, and local artists. After college, Steve landed his first big break playing keyboards with original Philadelphia soul group The Stylistics, touring from 1999-2001. He earned his Masters degree in Jazz Studies from William Paterson University (’03), studying with Harold Mabern and James Williams. James introduced Steve to Mulgrew Miller and Geoffrey Keezer, both whom he studied with privately. In 2005, Steve was selected to attend Ravinia Steans Institute, a prestigious composing and performance workshop for young professional musicians where he worked along side James Moody, Rufus Reid, David Baker and Nathan Davis. Recently, Steve performed with trumpet great Wallace Roney quintet with Mike Lee, Lenny White, Buster Williams, and Jordan Young.

Educator:
Steve served as Program Manager for the arts education organization
Jazz House Kids and holds a certificate in non-profit arts management for emerging leaders. Steve served as Director of Community Outreach and piano instructor for Lindeblad School of Music in Pine Brook, NJ. Steve serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary for The Education We All Deserve Through Music Foundation.
